Firebird is a touring car developed from the Alvis Firefly. Powered by an
1842-cc (73 x 110 mm) OHV Four, rated at
13.22 HP, actual output being 61 bhp at 4300 rpm engine, it
have an aluminium body on an ash wood frame. As with other Alvis
cars, the Firebird is built as a rolling chassis then sent to the
coachbuilders Cross and Ellis, to be finished to the customer's
requirements, so all Alvis Firebirds are different. The Firebird
has an all-synchromesh gearbox and the chassis is lubricated by
grease nipples under the bonnet. The 9 ft 1
0^ in wheelbase chassis is available for special coachwork. at
