In January production of the Alpine began. The official premiere took place in May. Two months later Pierre Dreyfus, the new CEO of the Régie Renault aproved marketing of the new model. Intially available as standard 1062 and 1063 Mille Miles, in October it was joined by intermediate 32 bhp version 1062-S. The most powerfull (and the most expensive) Mille Miles is only built to special order and equiped with five-speed gearbox. By October Alpine had already sold about 30 cars.

Galtier and Michy won their class at Mille Miglia in this 1954 prototype closely followed by Rédélé and Pons piloting a new coach A-106 which was its first great outing.
