Palm Beach Mk 2

J 3 R

Allard Palm Beach Mark II 72XK Sports have the same wheelbase and track as the Mark I but feature an entirely new two-seat aluminium-panelled body and either 3442-cc 190-bhp Jaguar or the new 2553-cc 90-bhp Ford Zephyr/Zodiac engine. The traditional Allard divided-front-axle design has been dropped in favour of an unusual system of lower wishbone and upper sliding bush, combined with laminated torsion bars.
Allard J3R was intended primarily for competition work. This V-8cylinder 5420-cc engined two-seater model-with alternative American engines to choice-feature a lightweight aluminium body which conformed to International Sports Car Regulations. Wheelbase is 8 ft.
